Beauty in the Mundane

I realize that my posts and pictures may seem redundant (Not to the grandparents, I'm assuming).  There are a lot of pictures of the kids, doing the same thing, with some nature thrown in the mix.  Repeat.  But, there is something about finding beauty in the ordinary that appeals to me.  It's not as if we are creating or doing something noteworthy everyday, some days we are just simply living.  There is beauty in that, too.  I cherish these mundane, simple days.  And when I forget in the moment to cherish them, I have my photos to remind me at the end of the day.  I am grateful and know that I am blessed.

Don't worry, if you're thinking it's always rainbows and butterflies around here, it's not.  But, reader, you don't really want to hear about all the ugly stuff like: the endless whining, the constant crying, and the fighting over who gets to wear the pink hat, do you?  Nah, didn't think so.  When life gives you whiny children, a headache, and a long day; focus the lens and zoom-in on a flower and the chaos fades away into the background for a minute or two (Okay, thirty seconds, maybe...).

Love your comments on this post!! It reminds me of something Brent's Grandpa Milo once said,"Two men looked out of prison bars. One saw mud, the other stars!" You choose to focus on the beauty in life and not be dragged down by the not so lovely like whining kids and the like. Good on ya! (Australian phrase)

Thanks, Bonita, for always encouraging me! Great quote. I appreciate it. I don't always succeed in focusing on the positive, but I really do try. I realize that every time I feel the need to write about my kids being whiny that an illness usually follows...which it did. ME had a fever the next day, so all that whining made a LOT of sense. XOXO
